A quick update on each of the boys:
Isaac: He’s officially out of the “lay low” phase from getting his tonsils and adenoids out and he is so happy about that. The first week he was really out on the couch. It literally took him a full week to even feel well enough to be off the couch. He also could not eat ANY foods for two weeks, not even the soft ones. He’s happy to be eating food again. However, he still cannot breathe out of his nose. Immediately after surgery his nose was clear. In fact, it’s one of the first things he said to me afterwards, but that only lasted a few days and now it’s back to what it was. I’m not sure what this means. He has his follow-up appointment on the 22nd so we’ll see what doc says. He also wakes up each morning since surgery with a headache. Not sure what that means either or if it’s even related.
Otherwise, Isaac is growing into such a young “man.” He’s only 11, but some days I feel like he’s going on 15. He is now considered a “junior higher” and that just blows my mind. How can that be?
He does wonderfully with his school, always willing to attack what’s next and get it done. He enjoys reading and my biggest challenge is keeping the house stocked with books that interest him.
He loves to babysit his younger brothers and this is such a huge help to me, especially when I just need to run out for this or that or even to run out with just one or two kids.
Eli: He has just finished his second season in soccer. He loves it and I have to admit, he’s quite good at it. This year was a bit more challenging because he’s at an older level so there’s more rules and stuff. The first part of the season was tough, but he kept with it. The team started the season losing most of their games, but it didn’t take long before they found what worked for them and then they were winning games. He made some great friends too.
Eli is doing well with school, but it’s a bit more challenging for him. School always has been for him though. Part of it is because he doesn’t want to sit and do school. He’d much rather be moving, moving, moving. I suspect there are other issues with Eli’s learning, but I do not want to put any labels on him so we move forward with much prayer. He has come a long way and I am so proud of him. His favorite subject is math and for some reason the numbers are a natural thing for him. He can do so much in his head.
Eli is usually never sitting still. And because sports are on our TV most of the time, he can never just sit and watch a game. He has to reenact it. Most of the time this drives me nuts—him always throwing the ball, jumping to get it and then falling to the ground—but I know some day I will miss this constant action so I try to withstand it.
Logan: Oh Logan! What little handful my Logan is! I love him dearly, but my oh my! We recently watched Dennis the Menace (great movie!), but I realized that we have our own Dennis the Menace—Logan. He doesn’t do things necessarily to be naughty; he’s just curious. Kind of like Curious George. It’s his curiousity that gets him into trouble. Like what will happen if I plug the sink and fill it up all the way with water? Will it really overflow? Or if I dangle this string in by the guinea pig, she won’t really bite it, will she? Or what if I dip my brother’s favorite hat in the toilet to clean it?
I constantly have to keep my eye on him, just in case. What worries me the most is that he has a little sidekick. Camden does everything Logan does. So I may end up with two little Dennis the Menaces. Yikes! Prayer, prayer and more prayers!
On his good days, Logan loves to help me in the kitchen. He is constantly pulling up the chair to help me bake something, make lunch or dinner, or even just to pick out his cereal in the morning. He loves to read books. Every night we read bedtime stories and I look forward to this time so much. Just me and Logan (with Camden running around nearby) snuggling together with a good book.
Logan reminds me very much of his dad. He has my looks but his dad’s personality. He loves to make others laugh and is always trying to tell some kind of story, joke, whatever to make his brothers laugh. This can be funny at times and kind of annoying at other times. Being all boy, some of his jokes focus on potty, poop or the like and that drives me nuts.
Camden: My little Camden. What a little journey he has been on. As far as I can tell, his reflux is better. He recently caught a simple cold and it was the first time it didn’t disrupt his sleep or turn into something worse. Praise God! I no longer have to take him to the chiropractor every week or more. I take him once a month. He still has the allergies and skin issues (yeast issues), but he’s made great improvement. Just last night Logan and Camden were pretending to be cows and they were on all fours crawling around. I looked at Camden and said, “I remember when that’s all we wanted you to do so badly.” He now crawls! It’s a bit slower, almost as if his mind really has to think about his actions, but he crawls.
He’s two and I definitely know it. He copies just about everything that Logan does, which is good some days and not so good other days. He is the youngest but can definitely stand up for himself. He is putting so many words together and I love to hear him talking.

Despite our struggles, I love my family. I am so very thankful for each of them and all the individual personalities God has given them.
Blessings.
