Logan and babies

Logan is now 21 months old. His brothers sang "Happy Birthday" to him yesterday. Hehehe! He loves cars and trucks ("vroom-vrooms"), but he also loves something else my other two boys never did.....babies! We're talking live babies or doll babies. I have a doll from when I was little. It's supposed to be a close replica of a newborn. The baby is a boy (with proper "parts" even) and I named him Matthew. Logan loves this doll and will carry it around with him, which isn't easy because Matthew is not the smallest or lightest doll. Logan puts Matthew to bed and tells everyone "shhhh." He pushes Matthew around in his shopping cart. "Baby, baby, baby." And he certainly doesn't like when anyone is mean to Matthew. I've had to remind Isaac and Eli many times to be nice to Matthew because Logan does what they do. If they're mean to Matthew, Logan may be mean to his new baby brother when he arrives. Not on purpose, just following example.
We were at a friend's house the other day who has a little girl the same age as Logan. This little girl had many of her own numerous baby dolls. Logan was thrilled with all the babies. She even had a stroller, car seat and high chair for the dolls (some things we do not have).
Am I worried that my little boy likes to play with dolls? Absolutely not! It shows his loving and caring side and I think he'll be great when his new LIVE baby brother arrives. Maybe a little too helpful trying to take care of baby brother, but no negative impact on him.

***I can just see Logan reading this when he's older and being embarassed by it, but I had to share. This is where he is at this point in his life and what he enjoys. Another thing he enjoys....shoes! He walked around in Eli's old tennis shoes (which are like three sizes too big) yesterday. He rode his bike, ran around, all with these big shoes on. :)
